When we saw that the invitation to Robert Wun’s Autumn/Winter 2026 Haute Couture show included a collaboration with the Skullpanda toy line, our hearts skipped a beat; it made perfect sense and raised our expectations for a collection rich in narrative and unexpected in execution. And, true to form, it did not disappoint.

Robert Wun is a master of his craft. Thanks to his corsetry, pleats, and finishes, he has positioned himself at the top of mind in the world of dark, hyper-realistic haute couture. On this occasion, childhood fairytale archetypes—including works by Hayao Miyazaki and Disney—found their way into his moodboard to refresh his work and give it a new purpose.

From Jack Skellington, Snow White, the Big Bad Wolf, Bambi’s mother, and Buzz Lightyear, to glass music-box ballerinas, they all melted into Robert Wun’s dark vision to culminate in a colorful aura on the verge of exploding, much like a child's imagination. Accompanied by otherworldly headpieces, this presentation brought together origami, plush elements, and massive volumes to transport us to the most unexpected corners of his mind.

What made this presentation so special? Beyond the balloons simulating paint splatters, it was the metamorphosis within Wun's work. It feels nostalgic yet magical, showing us that gravity-defying silhouettes, body-con dresses, and rigid ruffles are capable of being more than just a spectacle; they also clothe the modern body and delineate a new anatomy—one that respects its proportions while elevating them through imagination.

Robert Wun makes fashion for fashion’s sake, not for the consumer. And this presentation made it crystal clear that his name will continue to stand as one of the most thrilling ventures in haute couture.
